thinking of....

exams.

i have my social studies and english exam this coming friday and i'm happily on the com. typing this post.

sigh.

well just for a quick update..

ST MARGS WON THE JULIA GABRIEL'S S'PORE INTERSCHOOL DEBATES (C'DIV)

yay! i went to watch.. debating is an 'art' that has always managed to intrigue me. anyway, there was a segment where the motion was open to the floor and a number of speakers went forward to air their views or pose their rhetorical questions.. i was particularly irked at this speaker who came from a school i shall not name :

he said something along the lines of .. a good leader does not need to be a good communicator.. i believe a good leader can only originate from a man of steel.. adolf hitler was a great orator but was he a good leader?
yada yada ya

that really pissed me.. almost sent me off to rebut his point but nevertheless i was too timid to do so. especially in school uniform.
i'll just list the imaginary pointers i did say if i ever had the chance to see that _____ again .. :)

1. a good leader has to be a good communicator.

in fact a leader, good or bad has to be a good communicator.. otherwise how the heck did he/she get elected at the first place???!!

you got to communicate to people your vision otherwise how can they elect on no basis?

2. are you a sexist?

what's up with the man with steel.. are there no women.. ever heard of condeleeza rice?

3. ADOLF HILTER WAS A GOOD, NO, I SHOULD SAY GREAT LEADER!!!

you obviously haven't done your history. he united germany for god's sake! he recovered their economy in one of the shortest times possible. he helped them(the germans) regain their dignity and pride for their motherland.. yes, he is a crazy dicator that brough forth WWII, but put aside his wayside decisions, he was undoubtably one of the most influential leaders of his time.

aahs.. i am done :)

thinking of.... emotions

happiness disappears into oblivion before you realise it
sadness will always linger despite your refusal
contentment is the seed of discontent
hate is easily said than done
neutrality is a sign of future insanity
anger illustrates the meaning of " never judge a book by its cover"
love is mostly imcomprehensible

- some nonsense i thought of.. but it does make some sense, does it not?-

let sunshine pour down on me
let the daisies wave their petals along with the summer breeze
let the leaves shine under the bright orange glow
let my soul be content within..
